ADI Commitment on Equity

Address the persistent barriers in vaccine and healthcare delivery systems, especially in the poorest, most vulnerable and most marginalized communities.

Why it matters

A core principle of immunization is that the benefits of vaccines should be equitably extended to all people, no matter who they are or where they live. Large disparities between districts within a country are often an indication that there are systemic weaknesses in immunization delivery. Increasing equity in immunization has therefore been a longstanding priority in global and regional immunization plans.
